Al title (for format and translation – not permanent:

Identifying, discussing, and addressing hearing loss as a general practitioner and primary care provider “Campaign Belgian National Health Insurance”

Description:

As a general practitioner or first line health worker, you are an important link in recognizing and addressing hearing loss.
You can recognize and identify hearing loss during your communication with the patient. In addition, you can encourage patients with hearing loss to discuss their hearing problem with you so that you can anticipate the possible negative consequences of untreated hearing loss on your patient’s health and quality of life.

This campaign by the Belgian National Health Insurance provides a flow-chart, a step by step plan, to support general practitioners or first line health workers, to facilitate and promote this action.

The step-by-step plan for GPs when hearing loss is suspected
The potential negative consequences of untreated hearing loss
The Adult Hearing Screening Questionnaire
The hear-WHO speech-in-noise screening self-test
