Tianjin Peace Rehabilitation Medical Outpatient Department Ear Care Day Event

Description:

From March 3 to 7, Tianjin Heping Rehabilitation Medicine Clinic held a special public welfare free clinic for Ear Care Day. On-site free hearing services were provided to visiting citizens, including routine ear physical examinations, pure tone audiometry, bone conduction audiometry, and rapid otoscope examinations. The medical staff focused on answering diagnosis and treatment questions about common otological diseases such as tinnitus and deafness, otitis media, otitis externa, and vertigo. They also offered personalized protection and diagnosis-treatmentsuggestions for hearing issues of different groups, including children’s hearing development, hearing loss in the elderly, and noise-induced hearing loss in working populations.
Meanwhile, medical workers distributed scientific ear care popular science leaflets to citizens, explained the correct methods of daily ear use, headphone wearing, and ear cleaning on site, and corrected misconceptions in ear care such as ear picking and self-medication. The offline event benefited more than 200 people in total and received unanimous praise from the public.
In addition, on the occasion of Ear Care Day, the clinic released a popular science video titled Should We Wait for Deafness Gene Therapy?. The video disseminated the latest principles and progress of deafness gene therapy, helping parents of children with hearing impairment understand this cutting-edge medical intervention technology and supporting them in making correct and scientific choices for their children’s hearing intervention. The video garnered over 3,000 views on short video platforms, achieving remarkable communication effects.

Impactful Story:

A hearing-impaired mother, who has had hearing problems since childhood and worn an old hearing aid for years, struggled to find a suitable new one due to cost and comfort issues. During Ear Care Day, we let her try premium brands including Phonak and Widex. The model that fit her best was on discount. Satisfied with the trial, she decided to buy it and was delighted to finally get a new hearing aid.
