Description:
On March 3rd, the “Accumulate Good Deeds in Guizhou, Build Dream Space” event, themed “Scientific Love for Ears, Jointly Protecting Hearing Health,” was held at the Guizhou Assistive Devices Rehabilitation Center Plaza, organized by the Guizhou Provincial Disabled Persons’ Federation and the Provincial Department of Health, co-organized by the provincial disabled persons’ rehabilitation center, Guiyang City Disabled Persons’ Federation, and Guanshanhu District Disabled Persons’ Federation, and hosted by the “Accumulate Good Deeds in Guizhou, Build Dream Space” Co., Ltd., with participation from multiple medical and rehabilitation institutions as well as caring enterprises.
At the opening ceremony, children with hearing impairments brought by the provincial disabled persons’ rehabilitation center and the Guiyang City Disabled Persons’ Federation presented wonderful talent shows, showcasing their positive spirit and bringing the event to life. Leaders of the provincial disabled persons’ federation emphasized the significance of hearing health during their speeches, calling on society to pay attention to hearing health, popularize scientific knowledge about ear care, continuously enhance public awareness of hearing health, and jointly create a good atmosphere of understanding, concern, and support for people with hearing disabilities.
After the opening ceremony, six major service areas were simultaneously opened. The assistive device display area showcased advanced hearing aids and specialized devices for children, with professionals providing explanations on-site, allowing the public to get up close and personal with various types of hearing aids. The public testing and consultation area invited expert teams from hospitals such as the provincial and municipal People’s Hospitals to provide free hearing tests, tinnitus screenings, one-on-one consultations, and personalized recommendations based on test results. The interactive experience area promoted ear care through fun quizzes and assistive device experiences, while the handicraft workshop guided participants in making lantern decorations under the guidance of deaf teachers, and blind students from special education vocational schools provided massage services to the audience, promoting the sale of handmade crafts made by intellectually and mentally challenged youth and their families, conveying goodwill and recognizing the labor value of the special group. In the policy interpretation area, staff patiently answered questions from passersby regarding policies related to rehabilitation training and application for assistive devices. The event also prepared Yuanxiao dumplings for citizens, creating a warm festive atmosphere.
This year’s Ear Care Day publicity campaign deeply integrated professional testing, assistive device displays, policy interpretations, interactive experiences, and public welfare services, not only popularizing scientific knowledge about ear care but also enhancing the public’s awareness of hearing health, providing professional rehabilitation guidance and assistive device consulting services for people with hearing disabilities, and building a bridge for social care.
