Al title (for format and translation – not permanent:
Early screening and support for children with hearing loss through empowering schools and families to champion inclusive hearing health change.
Description:
On 3rd March we organized a general cleaning exercise at the King of Buganda County grounds in Butambala, we delivered messages about hearing loss amongst school children, as a motivation our occasion was officiated by a Princess Musale who delivered a health message to the school children who gathered for the event.
We utilized the influence of the Buganda Princess to raise awareness thus sensitizing parents, teachers and learners both those with and without hearing loss. With much emphasis on signs and how to support children with hearing loss for full realization of their potentials, by keeping them in schools.
This gathering enabled BAHOH members to establish subcounty Parent Support Groups purposely to connect families of children with hearing loss through shared learning & empowerment, we plan to utilize these focal groups formed to continue disseminating world hearing day key messages within their communities.
