The aim was to increase parents and teachers awareness of ear care and hearing problems for all children. The theme adopted the slogan of World Hearing Day 2026 (From communities to classrooms: hearing care for all children).
* The celebration, hosted by Ain Shams Specialized Hospital, was held on 2nd of March , during the holy month of Ramadan. Attendees were more than 400 from different disciplines; audio-vestibular physicians, other medical professionals as pediatricians, occupational and community medicine physicians, employees in hospital administrative sections, parents of hearing-impaired children, and representatives from governmental schools.
*As part of the activities preceding the celebration, a hearing screening campaign was conducted at Notre Dame De La Delivrande School. The screening was carried out by audio-vestibular physicians from Ain Shams University to detect potential hearing problems at an early stage.
*The ceremony included several scientific and educational sessions. Educational materials promoting safe listening practices were distributed, accompanied by QR codes to facilitate access to the information. Sessions addressed the importance of hearing care for children, presented the results of the school hearing screening campaign, and discussed the critical role of hearing in education and communication, particularly among school-aged children. Another session emphasized that early intervention plays a vital role in improving children’s language development and academic performance.
