Activities
1,800 school children were attended to.
Health talks were given to the pupils and teachers separately on the importance of hearing, causes/risks and prevention of hearing loss, early detection, and the need for referral to an appropriate facility.
Pamphlets were distributed to the children and teachers to aid understanding.
The children underwent clinical assessments and ear examinations.
150 children had ear syringing done for impacted wax, with an additional 8 various foreign bodies removed.
50 children with suspected hearing loss had screening audiometry done; among these, 14 had mild hearing loss, 1 had profound hearing loss, while others had normal hearing.
