Project title: Ear and hearing care training and advocacy at grassroots and governmental levels

Outline of the event:
hearX Foundation will host events in the Gauteng and Western Cape provinces of South Africa. In Gauteng, hearing and ear care awareness training will be done at community level (soup kitchens and creches) as well as advocacy on a television broadcast for Hilal TV. In the Western Cape, training of Nursing Practitioners at primary healthcare clinics will be provided in collaboration with Western Cape Department of Health; awareness training will be presented for learners and teachers on school level and advocacy re. the importance of early detection and effective treatment of hearing and ear health will be done amongst members of Western Cape Department of Health. World Hearing Day resources will be utilized at all events. Local media have been invited to attend the events. hearX Foundation will share events on our social media platforms.
