Project title: Hearing Loss Screening and Awareness

NYU Langone Health, in collaboration with the Institute of Excellence in Health Equity and the Department of Otolaryngology will mark this global initiative.
Starting February 25, 2023 leading to March 3rd, 2023, together with our community partners in Brooklyn , we will distribute multi-lingual brochures (English, Spanish, Mandarin, Arabic, and Bengali) on hearing loss as part of creating public awareness.
On February 27th,2023, Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Sunset Park, Brooklyn will host a hearing loss screening. In honor of World Hearing Day, all community trained hearing loss screeners will join Our Lady of Perpetual church in conducting the screening.
On March 3rd, 2023, we will host a virtual conversation with different stakeholders focusing on the theme for this year. Participants will include Hearing Loss Advocates, members of community and faith-based organizations from Brooklyn and Long Island, select elected Officials, the Larry Silverstein family, and Local Health Departments.
