Title: Access to Hearing Health and Related Issues
Description: Event 1: There is lack of audiology / ENT services in rural areas of Pakistan. It cause barrier in early identification and intervention, also many people particularly women are unable to get disability certificate and not get counted in disability data due to lack of audiology / ENT services. So we arranged a dialogue between rural community leaders and government to improve access to hearing health in rural areas. In the program Chief Guest, Special assistant to Chief Minister ensured that his department will consider the situation and will take action to improve access to hearing health in rural areas. 60 Participants from Rural areas of Sindh – Pakistan participated in this event. Event was organized by Danishkadah in collaboration with MDI, and Hearing Screen provided by SignOReb. Event 2: We also contributed as speaker in an Event of of University of Karachi on World Hearing Day.
