Title: EAR AND HEARING CARE MASS MEDIA CAMPAIGN AND ENLIGHTENMENT PROGRAM
Description: The Foundation For the Sick and Health Education(FFSHE) undertook mass media enlightenment program/presentations on ‘Ear and Hearing Care’ in National Televisions including Channels TV, Afican Indendent Tv(AIT) and Nigerian Television Authorithy(NTA). These program were also streamed live through the social media for a global coverage and access. Viewers/Listeners who were live had oppurnities to post in questions regarding their ear health and were given instant satistfactory answers. Some others reached out to the guest and facillitators privately to get answers and counselling regarding their ear healths. The president of FFSHE(Prof. Titus S IBEKWE), was available to anchor these programs. Those requring further care were advised on appropriate primary, secondary and tertiary health care facilities. We also published an article on WHD and Ear Care in West African Journal of Medicine March 2023.
Expected outcome: This enlightenement would discourage harmful practices to the ear and promote proper referrals for care.
