As a self-help association and patient advocacy group, we initiated, in cooperation with our partners such as the global hearing health initiative, a parliamentary breakfast on the occasion of World Hearing Day. With experts from medicine and industry as well as people affected, we were available to MPs and staff for discussions and conducted professional hearing tests by experienced hearing care professionals. Much support is needed to meet the high demand for knowledge about the consequences of untreated hearing loss among health professionals and the public and to close existing gaps in care. It was an interesting morning with short keynote speeches, concise information, expert panellists and of course breakfast.
