Kallakurichi is an economically backward district in the Tamilnadu region. Importance of hearing preservation should be emphasised from children to elderly population.
Hearing preservation awareness among School age children is planned through skits and short plays. Success stories of cochlear implantees to be shared with parents of children with congenital hearing defects.
Hearing importance among College going population is planned with their active involvement through events like meme creation,cartoon competitions. Importance of limiting headphones through awareness videos.
Medical and paramedical workers to be sensitized about hearing importance through CME,poster, elocution competitions. Police personnel and factory workers to be emphasised on hearing preservation..
Young and middle aged adults to be sensitised with informations and importance of hearing preservation.
Elderly people with hearing impairment are to be screened and hearing aid to be issued free of cost.
