This year Ear Care Nepal (ECN) marked World Hearing Day with great enthusiasm and vigor. On the 3rd March, ECN Chairperson Dr. Milan Maharjan participated in the press meet. During the press meet, she spoke about importance of school ear health program for prevention of hearing loss in children.

ECN conducted school ear and hearing health program at two government run schools during the week. School screening programs were conducted at the Tri-Padma Vidyashram, Pulchowk, Lalitpur and Shree Padma Secondary School, Bhaktapur district respectively. A total of 978 children were screened and treated for ear diseases. Their hearing was evaluated using pure tone audiometer. All the children and their teachers were educated about ear and hearing health using education materials developed in local language. Animation video, booklets and storybook about ear and hearing were used to educate children about ear and hearing care.
