Title: Empowering Souls Through Hearing Care for a Deaf-Free India by 2047
Alternate tite:
Empowering souls through hearing care for a deaf-free India by 2047
Description:
We celebrated World Hearing Day 2025 by hosting a comprehensive awareness camp where we provided services to 305 patients. The event focused on educating the community about the prevention and management of deafness. Alongside the camp, we launched a Facebook campaign to further spread awareness about hearing loss and its impacts. Additionally, we distributed copies of the book ‘Silent Epidemic’ to both the general public and patients. This book, authored by Dr. Manoj Kumar Gupta, offers valuable insights into the burden of deafness in India and emphasizes the importance of early detection and care
Primary site: SEAR- India
Impactful Story:
During our World Hearing Day 2025 event, a transformative moment unfolded for a young family. A 3-year-old, previously unable to speak, was diagnosed with profound hearing loss at our camp. After learning about our event through our awareness campaign, his parents sought help. We provided bilateral hearing aids and discussed cochlear implant options. The family’s relief and gratitude underscored the power of early detection and intervention, offering new possibilities for their child’s communication and development. This experience highlights the critical impact of our World Hearing Day activities.
