Title: Collectively Crafting an Empowerment Vision for Ear and Hearing Care
Alternate tite:

Collectively crafting an empowerment vision for ear and hearing care

Description:

COLLECTIVELY CRAFTING AN EMPOWERMENT VISION FOR EAR AND HEARING CARE is about a Shared Journey towards Empowering Diverse Perspectives and setting the trend in providing a comprehensive approach to hearing healthcare and hearing loss awareness campaigns. The launched and visualized Collaborative Heart Project in a pilot test intends to drive Collaboration-4-Impact in its mission to provide an avenue for connecting catalysts and creative thinkers to write the narratives and co-create transformation together in the context of Ear and Hearing Care. Through the integrated activities set into motion, the role of the academe in weaving the diverse advocacy work concretely showcased the actual mainstreaming of the sectoral representations into the program development output. The project is on point in actively engaging colleges and universities; enabling social innovators to effectively bridge innovation and support services that at the same time can help open avenues at the level of localities/communities for targeted support.

Primary site: WPR – Philippines

Impactful Story:

Roi Louise Buenaventura is an example how spreading awareness and offering support services can turn a blind youth advocate for disability empowerment into a safe listening advocate. She highlighted two important key points:

“First, the importance of hearing healthcare for persons who already have one impairment, especially for us with visual impairments who mostly rely on our hearing to perceive the things around us. Second, the impact of having easier access to hearing healthcare services can be life-changing as it can directly impact one’s quality of life.”
