Title: To make hearing care a reality for all -Series of Public Welfare Activities on Ear Care Day
Alternate tite:
To make hearing care a reality for all – series of public welfare activities on Ear Care Day
Description:
In response to the theme of this year’s World Hearing Day by the World Health Organization (WHO), “CHANGE MINDSETS, EMPOWER YOURSELF: make ear and hearing care a reality for all,” we organized a series of initiatives in Sichuan Province. These included:
– Hosting hearing health lectures by audiology experts
– Collaborating with ENT departments and hearing centers from partner hospitals to conduct educational activities, free medical consultations, and hearing screenings
– Implementing community-based hearing health education programs
– Providing free hearing evaluations
These efforts extended beyond the annual National Ear Care Day, spanning nearly a month and designated as “Ear and Hearing Care Month.” Our company mobilized 42 employees alongside dozens of experts to:
– Educate nearly 1,000 individuals on hearing health
– Perform hearing screenings and health assessments for over 200 people with hearing impairments
Primary site: WPR – China
Secondary sites: China
Impactful Story:
Sixty-eight-year-old Grandpa Wang of Chengdu, Sichuan, struggled with hearing loss for years until a free Ear Care Day screening revealed moderate impairment. Reluctantly trying a modern hearing aid, he was overwhelmed when distant birdcalls and his grandson’s laughter suddenly became clear. “I thought everyone mumbled!” he said, tearful. Now wearing the device, he reconnects with neighbors and family, calling it “my bridge back to the world.” The month-long campaign transformed his isolation into joy.
