Alternate tite:

Interactive discussion in commemoration of World Hearing Day 2025

Description:

In order to commemorate World Hearing Day 2025, the ENT Department of the Faculty of Medicine, Malikussaleh University/Cut Meutia Hospital held a hearing health socialization and education on Monday, March 3, 2025. This activity took place in front of the ENT Polyclinic and was attended by patients and hospital visitors who were waiting for examination.

The event was opened by the Director of Cut Meutia Hospital, dr. Syarifah Rohaya, Sp.M. The educational material was delivered by two ENT specialists, Dr. dr. Indra Z, Sp.THT-BKL (K), FISCM and dr. Fahrizal, Sp.THT-BKL. They explained various factors that can affect hearing health, including exposure to loud noises, the habit of using earphones at high volume, and the importance of early detection of hearing disorders.

The event was interactive with a discussion session between doctors and hospital visitors. Patients were given the opportunity to ask questions about hearing complaints and how to prevent ear disorders.

As part of health education, doctors also invited the public to have regular hearing checks, especially for newborns, school-age children, and individuals over 50 years old. RSU Cut Meutia hopes that the public will be more concerned about ear and hearing health, and implement preventive measures so that they can continue to hear well throughout their lives.
