Description:

On the World Hearing Day 2025, the Neuropathology of Hearing Reserach group (Institute of Biomedical Research Sols-Morreale CSIC-UAM & CIBERER Unit CB06/07/1021) organized two scientific outreach activities for general public, both directed to change midsets and empower people with hearing impairment:
– A scientific seminar in the Institute of Biomedical Research Sols-Morreale CSIC (Madrid, Spain) entitled “Molecular Predictors of Recurrence in Vestibular Schwannoma: A Transcriptomic and RT-qPCR Analysis”, where Dr. Carmen Ruiz, one of our associated ORL clinicians, explain the genetic and molecular basis of vestibular schwannoma, a rare tumor of the vestibular nerve that causes hearing loss.
– An intervention in “En las onda de Marie”, a UCC+i – UCM radio program that address scientific content applied to everyday life and explained by experts, where our colleague Dr. Julio Contreras talked about hearing and hearing loss, cochlear implants and CI users and how we can protect our hearing . The podcast is permanently available through the Spotify and Ivoox platforms.
