Alternate tite:
WHD2025: Changing the mindset on UoA campus
Description:
This is our annual event held on Medical & Health Sciences Campus, the University of Auckland, Auckland, New Zealand to raise awareness about the importance of hearing health and hearing research. The event was held on campus on 3rd of March 2025. We had visits by university students and staff members to our presentation, showcasing WHD official material and our own outreach material for hearing health and research. We had some feedback such as interests for outreach initiatives to visit schools for wider reach to the community and their families. We also provided a free New Zealand Sign Language and Deaf Culture workshop over lunch time. This was attended by students and staff on campus; notably some students involved in audiology degree were attending, and it was very good to raise awareness of hearing loss and Deaf culture, sign language culture in those who will become health professionals for hearing in the future. We contributed to change the mindset of future hearing health leaders and researchers from our University campus!
