Title: World Hearing Day Ear Screening – Sogeri
Alternate tite:

World Hearing Day ear screening – Sogeri

Description:

The Uniting Church welcomed the team with flower wreaths, songs, dance, and drama. Keynote speakers, including Ms. Baeau Tai, highlighted hearing loss awareness and the importance of early intervention. The event ran from 10:30 AM – 4:00 PM, with ear screening commencing at 12:00 PM.
Children from the local school (approximately 31) were prioritized, followed by adults. Each participant completed a consent form and had the process explained before undergoing otoscopy and tympanometry (if appropriate). Data was collected, and participants received a summary of their results along with CSNU merchandise (bag or drink bottle). We identified new clients (mostly adults) who will undergo a further hearing assessment at our clinic. Approximately half of the participants (50) received advice, referral to a health professional, treatment, or will come to CSNU for a further follow up. Contact details were gathered, or a CSNU business card was provided.
