With the aim of raising awareness about noise among various stakeholders, ANER organized a national seminar on the theme “The Health Effects of Noise Exposure” on May 6-7, 2025 in Tunis the capital of Tunisia. This event fits well into the communication program established by ANER in 2025, specially with the projection of a court film on ear health in different pages of social media since the third of March 2025, date of the WHD. We also publish many leaflets, posters and flyers. This seminar was an opportunity to brought together representatives of scientific research institutions, municipalities, ministries (health, environment, industry, transport, family, religious affairs, social affairs, family affairs, trade, territorial planning and building, youth, etc..), non governmental organizations and media. More than 130 participants attended this seminar. during these 2 days, 3 plenary sessions are organized reporting:
– the national situation (results of the ANER perception study, statistics on deafness and disability),
– the health effects of the exposure to noise in professionnel, household and urbain environments,
– the measures and the actions to control risks associated with noise exposure (risk management, planning, regulation, communication, protection equipment, etc…).
In the second day of this event, 3 working groups was debating :
– environmental issues and noise control measures;
– promotion of hearing health through the control of noise-related risks
– reflection on the role of Information – Education – Communication in the context of preventing risks linked to exposure to environmental noise.
This seminar was well publicized. It was a success in raising awareness about the importance of hearing health and preventing risks associated with noise exposure.
