Mbeya Zonal Referral Hospital was the official host for the World Hearing Day, 2024 countrywide. A total of 29 ENT specialists and 9 audiologists participated. The following events took place
-Knowledge sessions on proper Ear and Hearing care at four different local radio stations from 27th February to 1st March 2024.
– Knowledge and Ears check up done to 11 primary schools at Mbeya City. A total of 3552 students got knowledge session and 1957 students got Ears check up.
-A total of 541 patients showed at Mbeya Zonal referral Hospital grounds on 1st, 2nd and 3rd of March 2024 for knowledge sessions, free check and Hearing assessment. A total of 243 patients underwent hearing screening by Pure Tone Audiometry.
-On 3rd March the Guest of Honor, was a representative of the Minister of Health and senior officials from the ministry of Health attended
