On 03/03, Bragança Paulista joined the global celebration of World Hearing Day, providing an impactful and enlightening event. The event took place from 8:00 am to 12:30 pm and exceeded expectations, with many participants also undergoing free hearing screenings.
Hearing loss is an invisible condition and currently affects approximately 5.8 million Brazilians. Unfortunately, there is a lack of social effort to integrate these people into society, resulting in situations of misunderstanding and frustration. While other disabilities are visible and more accepted, hearing loss is often overlooked, leading to impatience and even cruelty on the part of those who do not understand the difficulties faced.
The main objective of Sunday’s event was to clarify and raise awareness both for people with hearing loss and those who live with them. Encouraging the search for help and treatment, the initiative sought to transform attitudes, promoting more empathy and patience in daily life.
