‘Alonga Centre Visit

Primary site: WPR – Tonga
Additional site(s):

To recognise World Hearing Day, the Ears, Nose and Throat (ENT) team led by Dr ‘Amone Vaka‘uta visited the ‘Alonga Centre (a residence for 20-25 adults with disabilities and four caregivers.) The day started with prayer and a short devotion from Psalm 84:8 led by the minister of the ‘Alonga Centre. Afterwards the ENT team provided ear checks for everyone and four residents were fitted with hearing aids donated by Amplifon New Zealand.

In addition to this, as part of the hearing screening programme (jointly run by the Ministry of Health and the Rotary Clubs of Hampton and Nuku‘alofa) class 1 and 2 students were invited to write a song about taking care of their ears and hearing, our winning video can be found here: https://www.facebook.com/100064800306009/posts/799646935538643/?mibextid=rS40aB7S9Ucbxw6v
