The Department of Medical Rehabilitation at the College of Applied Medical Sciences, King Khalid University commemorated World Hearing Day 2024 by organizing an educational session in Abha, Saudi Arabia. The faculty and students presented and informed the general public on several subjects like Tinnitus, Hearing loss and its impacts, Vestibular disorders, NIHL and hearing preservation, Hearing aids, and cochlear implants, the Audiologist’s role in hearing healthcare, and Hearing screening. The organizers arranged and disseminated posters, booklets, and promotional materials to raise awareness about the causes, early detection, and treatment of these subjects. Over 500 individuals convened at the event, seeking assistance and counsel regarding a range of hearing-related issues. The event ended on a positive note by successfully raising public awareness of hearing and hearing-related issues, thereby making a significant impact. Hearing screening was performed for both children and elderly individuals during the event.
