For the 14th World Hearing Day in Germany, in 2024, the German Hearing Industry Association (Bundesverband der Hörsysteme-Industrie, BVHI) organised a multi-media PR campaign for audiologists, hearing acousticians, ENT doctors and other healthcare professionals under the patronage of the German Federal Minister of Health, Prof. Dr. Karl Lauterbach. Our 2024 campaign reached around 250 million readers via online and print media in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. 50 radio reports were heard by more than 8 million people, and 21 television broadcasts, with tips from hearing care professionals for better hearing care, reached 1.5 million viewers. On social media, 907 posts were created for March 3rd. For the first time, ten “hearing care ambassadors” (people who are living with hearing loss, themselves) are supporting the campaign, which, because of its great success, was extended by BVHI far beyond the month of March.
