The Audio-vestibular Unit ,ENT department at the Faculty of Medicine, Ain Shams University – a member of the World Hearing Forum – organized a celebration on the occasion of World Hearing Day.The theme was Change concepts and mindsets.
The celebration, hosted by Ain Shams Specialized Hospital, the attendees were ;colleagues of Audio-vestibular Medicine also employees of hospital , medical students and nurses trainee.
Opening included welcome speeches of WHO regional head quarter of the middle east Dr. Nima Saeed Abed , vice Deen of Ain Shams university and head of otolaryngology and audiology departments.
There was an interactive panel discussion exploring misconception experiences of the guests about hearing loss and the hazards of noise exposure.
At the end there was a hearing screening conducted to attendee using WHO app.
A booklet titled “How to protect your hearing” written in Arabic with simple words and graphs was distributed to all attendees.
