Kolkata Society for Empowerment of the Differently Abled (KSEDA) celebrated World Hearing Day on 5th March 2024. Dr. Ruma Chatterjee, Hon. Secretary welcomed everyone. She enlightened everyone about – the role of WHO in creating awareness on preventing deafness and hearing loss. She also added how all the organisations also celebrate it to promote ear and hearing care across the world.
Swarniva, a boy with severe Low Vision spoke about challenges he faced and also how he overcame them. Joel Murmu and Mamoni Ghosh both shared their experience and also emphasized on the importance of hearing.
Ms. Sujata Mulia, Speech Therapist spoke about structure of ear, types of hearing impairment, process of hearing, types of hearing loss. The session was very informative and interactive.
The programme ended with a vote of thanks by Mallika Das who thanked everyone especially the young adults.
