a) Webinar on EHC: 1st March 2024
WHO AFRO NCD Programme planned and conducted an online briefing targeted NCD focal points at WHO country office. In this 1-hour webinar where 141 people were in attendance, up to date information on prevalence of hearing loss, causes of hearing loss, management of hearing loss and WHO interventions towards addressing hearing loss were discussed. Also discussed was hearing loss at the workplace and how to avoid it. The session was very interactive, and many pertinent questions were asked and received responses.
b) Ear and hearing screening camp on WHO AFRO Campus on 1st March and in the community on 3rd March 2024
A hearing camp was organised at the Tennis club on the regional office campus as well as at La corniche in the community. Beneficiaries underwent ear assessment and hearing screening.
