Event Description:

The World Federation of the Deaf (WFD) took the opportunity of the World Hearing Day 2022 to highlight the importance of recognising, respecting and celebrating sign languages around the world to implement the World Report on Hearing. We customised the 2022 theme “To hear for life, listen with care” into reaffirming that, for deaf people, the best way to “hear” is through our eyes while expressing ourselves through our national sign languages. Thus, the WFD released a video representing global deaf children delivering the same message in their sign language: “Listen to our Sign Languages”
