Nurturing Dignity Project (NDP) aimed to bring about synergic effect of young women and girls with hearing loss from Kigali city to advance their rights, empower themselves and express their interests through organization of deaf women football in 3 districts of Kigali city.
We carried out:
– Organization of deaf women football competition in different locations of Kigali,
– Organization of the training on women/girls’ issues including Gender Based Violence (GBV), women empowerment and disability based stigma and discrimination with more focus on women and girls with hearing loss for 50 local leaders, healthcare workers from Kigali by using sign languages,
– Conducted comprehensive health education on women/girls’ issues including GBV, women empowerment, disability based stigma and discrimination with more focus on women and girls with hearing loss at the football sites and in the community of Kigali for 1 week till the World Hearing Day 2024 (3rd March 2024).
