The World Hearing Day 2024 virtual event, themed “Changing Mindsets: Ear & Hearing Care for All,” successfully convened in Nigeria, uniting audiologists, ENT specialists, hearing loss individuals, and health policymakers. This enlightening session spotlighted the unique challenges and solutions in Nigeria’s hearing care landscape. Participants actively engaged in interactive workshops, experiencing hearing loss simulations and learning about local sign languages, enhancing their understanding and empathy. 25 persons attended the live google meet event held on 3rd March, 2024. A comprehensive social media campaign was launched 4 weeks before the live event , effectively raising awareness about hearing loss prevention and care within the Nigerian community. This social media campaign done on linkedin reached 2000 persons. The event, targeting the general public, healthcare professionals, policymakers, and those with hearing difficulties, aimed to educate and foster actions toward making ear and hearing care accessible and inclusive in Nigeria.
