We conducted a hearing awareness program for World Hearing Day, (27/2/2024 to 03/03/2024).
We visited 3 institutions over 3 days to spread awareness about noise induced hearing loss and how it can be prevented.Institutions are PSV Arts and science college on 27-02-2024, Alpha Engineering college on 28-02-2024,RGCET on 28-02-2024. All students and faculty were very welcoming and interactive, the purpose of educational workshop was to target the audience at a young age and to spread awareness for preventing hearing loss in future. Screening camps were conducted on a large scale at TAQA Company, Neyveli on 13/2/2024, where around 100 company workers and staff were screened for hearing evaluation and another one at Kirumampakkam Police Station on 03/03/2024, where 30 -40 police officials were screened for audiological evaluation and further advice given if needed, The police officials were provided with complimentary ear plugs and small saplings to celebrate World Hearing Day.
