BIO launched several initiatives for PEHC in China. One of the initiatives was an aware-raising activity titled “Technology Helps Hearing, Sharing a Better Life” which aimed to introduce the national policy on the Prevention and Treatment of Hearing Loss. Policy-makers, leaders of the National Health Commission, and the National Technical Group for Prevention and Treatment of Hearing Loss participated in the national activity to raise awareness in the community and among health officials. Live events were also organised, with a total of over 1 million viewers. WHO materials were also distributed through booklets and social media channels for the event, including a presentation at the outpatient clinic with the distribution of printed materials and recommendations for preserving hearing ability, and hearing screening. About 200 pieces of WHO promotional materials were distributed to community residents.
