Croatian Institute of Public Health (HZJZ) together with Croatian Association of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (HSGN) and Faculty of Education and Rehabilitation Sciences University of Zagreb (ERF) promoted World Hearing Day by organizing a public event (March 4th) where they presented challenges of growing number of persons with hearing loss in Croatia and the world. HZJZ was talking about national hearing screening in children and adults, ERF representatives were talking about assistive technology in hearing loss, psycho-social impact on late deafend persons, statistics and costs of unaddressed hearing loss and HSGN presented Slavica – VRI platform for online sign language interpretation. The event was media covered by Croatian national television (HRT).
