The NGO Monde Actions Durables played an active role in World Hearing Day from March 1 to 8, 2024, involving awareness campaigns, educational seminars, media broadcasts, and free screenings. Focusing on the prevention and management of hearing loss, activities relayed the annual theme “Changing mindsets: Let’s make ear and hearing care a reality for everyone!”. Health professionals, craftsmen and partners took part in the central event on March 6, where awareness-raising and screening took place.
The project benefited from the support of partners such as Bénoit Afrique Audition, with translations into Fongbé to ensure comprehension. Flyers, posters and social networks were used to disseminate information. Some 270 participants benefited directly from the activities, expressing a desire to see these initiatives repeated and the need to care for those affected by hearing problems. All in all, the NGO succeeded in raising awareness effectively, while benefiting from valuable support from its partners.
