2024 World Hearing Day “Changing mindsets” Let’s make ear and hearing care a reality for all!

To combat ingrained societal misperceptions about hearing loss, in partnership with our oversea branches, we offered free audiological evaluations and 196 community lectures on hearing health across China, Tanzania，Ghana and Pakistan. A total of 38,675 people registered for our 2024 WHD events.
Our educational lecture series were typically held at hospitals, community centers, and aural rehabilitation facilities. A total of 1024 free onsite hearing screenings were conducted. Among the 47,253 individuals screened, 13.73% were diagnosed with some level of hearing loss. Additionally, house-call hearing care was offered in 49 municipalities. During these events, we donated a total of 4321 hearing aids to children with hearing loss and families with limited financial means. Hearing-impaired people diagnosed at our events were offered hearing aid prescriptions at heavily discounted prices (over 20% off).
