On World Hearing Day (#WHD) 2024, the Youth and Gender Initiative (YOGI) organized interesting activities in Bamendankwe, focusing on the crucial aspects of hearing health. The program commenced with a screening session for community members, where 23 individuals were tested, revealing that 8% faced minor hearing issues. These participants were promptly referred to Bamenda Regional Hospital for further assessment and care. Building on the day’s educational objectives, YOGI also organized a training workshop for 20 young individuals, educating them on proper ear care and cleaning techniques.

This proactive approach aimed not only at immediate care but also at instilling long-term preventative practices within the community. The event underscored YOGI’s commitment to enhancing health awareness and fostering a community equipped to manage and prevent hearing health challenges.
