Primary site: WPR – Australia
Additional site(s):

The World Hearing Day celebrations commenced with an acknowledgement of Country. Followed by a 160 people full attendance at a panel discussion of people with lived experience with a wide range of hearing experiences, titled ‘Ask Us Anything’, the questions asked of panelists and discussion was not only lively but well received by all. The remainder of the day included displays by a range of community groups that represent and service people who are deaf and hard of hearing, service providers that sell assistive listening devices, researchers and a small number of hearing legends of Australia, available to answer questions from all. Throughout the day, free hearing screening was made available, and the culmination of the day was a barbeque lunch, social and networking opportunity for attendees. Attendance across the day was estimated to be around 180 people engaging in activities.
