9 members of the Manchester Centre for Audiology and Deafness team attended an all day awareness event which involved hosting a resources stand and a range of hearing related activities for the shoppers and visitors at the Manchester Trafford Centre. These activities included video otoscopy, using a Kemar head to find out how loud personal music devices really are, myth-buster quizzes, demonstrations of sound using a chladni plate and slinkies, hearing loss simulations, free ear plugs and promotion of the Royal National Institute for Deaf People wax removal campaign. There was a great deal of interest in World Hearing Day from the people at the Centre, and lots of questions answered!
