Activities were carried out to promote World Hearing Day, were carried out by Mayflower Medical Outreach with the support of the Ministry of Health in coordination with the Victoria Motta Hospital ,Jinotega in the north of the country with a regional focus.
We realized a medical audiological-surgical brigade at the Victoria Motta Hospital, leading the surgical team by our medical director Mayflower Medical Outreach Dr James Saunders, collaborating with local ENT from the hospital, 12 complex surgeries were done ( otological surgeries) teaching and training the local ENT. It benefits patients with those complex pathologies , recovering their hearing.
40 patients hearing impairment received hearing aids, providing them batteries for one year, during the week, hearing test were performed for all patients who attend the audiology clinic with a total of 80 pts. Our audiological clinic was equipped with a new ABR Vivosonic , providing high quality in audiological care.
