Title: Raising Awareness of Hearing Loss in the Aging Community
Description: Our team at the Hearing, Speech, and Balance Center organized an online course titled, “Hearing and the Aging Community” which was made available for free to the public, specifically benefiting older adults. This educational resource provided comprehensive information on various aspects of hearing. It explored the mechanism of hearing, common hearing problems in elderly individuals, the influence of such issues on their overall health, and guidance on maintaining ear health. Simultaneously, a hearing awareness booth was set up at the Geriatric building, offering free hearing checks, via a mobile and tablet application, for older participants. Additionally, hearing health themed items were handed out as souvenirs from the event.
