 Organization: BAZAMUGANGA Health Initiative

 Region: Rwanda

Title: Chronic Suppurative Otitis Media Awareness Week

Description:

Our team with the Bazamuganga Health Initiative coordinated various activities aimed at promoting ear care and creating awareness on the effects of loud noise. These included a training session on CSOM for the staff of Gihundwe District Hospital in Cyangugu, Rwanda, encompassing doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and paramedics. At Nkombo Health Center, we conducted a screening and treatment outreach for ear conditions, coupled with a training session for community workers. We also engaged with patients at the Consultation Hall, answering their queries regarding the causes and prevention of CSOM. Additionally, we hosted a radio talk show on Country FM in Kamembe and made daily posts on social media about ear care.
