Description: The University of Kelaniya’s Department of Disability Studies in Sri Lanka held a series of events from March 1 to 13, 2023, in honor of World Hearing Day. The program, designed to educate healthcare professionals and students about hearing loss and its early detection, included interactive discussions, poster sessions, and webinars led by professors from the USA and India. The audience for these events was comprised of ENT consultants, policymakers, audiologists, and audiology students. Additionally, a specialized workshop was conducted for 80 public health midwives, further emphasizing the importance of early detection of hearing issues.
