Title: World Hearing Day 2023 – Celebration Report
Description: The group behind the Sound Hearing 2030 initiative organized a number of events in honor of World Hearing Day 2023. A screening camp was held in a local school, examining 445 children for ear and hearing issues. Additionally, a special ear and hearing screening event was set up in a hospital as well as in the local community. To improve hearing care, a capacity-building program was organized for 30 ENT surgeons and 30 medical officers. Furthermore, a poster and slogan competition engaged approximately 250,000 students from over 120 schools. In addition to these activities, a national symposium featuring the Indian Association of Preventive and Social Medicine (IAPSM) was conducted via Zoom, and a conference was held on World Health Day at the Maulana Azad Medical College auditorium in New Delhi. In a variety of locations, numerous information, education, and communication (IEC) and behavioral change communication (BCC) activities took place, including street performances, health talks, and quizzing competitions.
