Title: TASLPA’S World Hearing Day 2023
Description: The Telangana Audiologists and Speech Language Pathologists Association (TASLPA) recognized World Hearing Day 2023 through a number of initiatives. A press conference emphasizing the importance of newborn hearing screening was organized, suggesting that the government make such screenings mandatory. In collaboration with AOI Hyderabad, a public awareness walk-a-thon was conducted at People’s Plaza, Necklace Road in Hyderabad, India which was attended by a group of 200 audiologists and ENT physicians. In addition, free hearing screening campaigns were held in 50 clinics throughout Telangana, screening 10,000 individuals. Lastly, a donation of 10 digital hearing aids was made to the Department of Audiology at Gandhi Hospital and the association participated in the grand launch of the first non-surgical BC hearing aid, the HearNU.
