Title: Celebrating World Hearing Day 2023 in Ilocos Norte
Description: The Mariano Marcos Memorial Hospital and Medical Center’s Department of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery initiated World Hearing Day 2023 celebrations by displaying an infographic on the municipal LED wall in the city of Batac, Ilocos Norte, Philippines, and on their social media platforms in early March. On March 5, 2023, a clinical audiologist spoke about ear and hearing care on local radio station, Bombo Radyo Laoag. The following day, the department hosted an ear care event and presented a lecture to 140 elementary school students and their caregivers at Doña Josefa Edralin Marcos Elementary School in Currimao, Ilocos Norte, Philippines. Lastly, they offered complimentary hearing tests to 16 hospital staff members experiencing hearing issues and provided consultations.
