Description: The Serbian Society of Otorhinolaryngology hosted a two-day symposium titled “Hearing and Vocal Hygiene” in Belgrade to commemorate World Hearing Day 2023. The event, held on March 6th and 7th, brought together otolaryngologists, audiologists, speech therapists, phoniatricians, and vocal coaches. The first masterclass emphasized the significance of early detection of hearing loss in newborns and infants, the connection between hearing loss and speech issues, and tinnitus as an early sign of hearing impairment. The second masterclass explored current hearing loss treatments, including hearing aids and surgical procedures. The third masterclass on March 7th focused on hearing loss prevention, addressing occupational and daily noise exposure and ototoxicity. The fourth and final masterclass highlighted the importance of vocal hygiene and various methods to maintain a healthy voice.
