Title: Ear and Hearing Health- Raising the Awareness
Description: Educational webinars on ear and hearing care were conducted for 60 special education teachers across various schools and healthcare facilities. In collaboration with ear, nose and throat specialists and a community pediatrician, the hearing health team carried out assessments for 131 students in special education schools. These assessments included otoscopic examinations, cerumen curettage, ear irrigation, and hearing screenings done using a portable diagnostic audiometer. Additionally, a hearing screening campaign was implemented where 16 primary health staff underwent diagnostic audiometry. Informative social media cards, providing safe listening practices, healthy ear tips, and ear care advice were developed and widely distributed. On March 3, a public statement was issued by the Minister of Health, Wellness, and Elderly Affairs.
