Title: Hearing Camps for Children and Seniors
Description: In honor of World Hearing Day 2023, our team coordinated two separate hearing camps to promote awareness and provide support for different age groups. The first camp took place at Ramchandra Kurulkar Bahuuddeshiya Shikshan Sansthan in Panvel, Maharashtra state, India where hearing tests were conducted for 20 children from a residential orphanage for hearing-impaired children. The second camp, held at Saifee Hospital in Mumbai, catered to an older demographic, with 90% of the 30 attendees being senior citizens aged 75 or older. This event illuminated common misconceptions about age-related hearing loss, and through counseling and hearing aid trials, we helped patients understand their hearing conditions. Additionally, five patients were advised to consider cochlear implants based on their diagnosis. These initiatives ensured comprehensive hearing care for all age groups.
